This clock has an interesting past. It belonged to a family who immigrated from Holland and was nearly discarded until research revealed it had been serviced by the Ten Boom family. Corrie Ten Boom being the first registered female watchmaker in the Netherlands. The Ten Booms hid Jews from the Germans during the war and suffered imprisonment as a result; Corrie later forgave two Germans, became a public speaker, and authored several books including ‘The Hiding Place”.
